Do you have emergency contacts for your dogs other than you --- IN THE CAR??

I got a message on one of my agility lists that really made me think.

If you are in a bad car accident on your way to or from a show, or just around town
and you get taken to the hospital, what will the emergency response people do with your dogs???

So, I made cards for the kids today and am putting them on their crates in the car with their names,
dob, home address, necessary medical info ( like the fact that one of my dogs is blind and that another
is afraid of men and a RUNNER) and contact numbers for 3 of my friends I know will drop everything
and come and get the babies. I have a guarantee of payment for vet and boarding bills on there, too.

I laminated my cards with a photo of the dog, it's info and made a cover out of red card stock
with the dogs photo and name on it with EMERGENCY INFO on it and hung it on their crates.

I am also putting another set near the dashboard in case I get hurt with some of the other dogs I haul to shows...

Another person wrote me and said they were behind an accident where a car got totalled
and out jumped 5 collies with collars, but no leashes. Apparently some were easier to catch
than others so that lady always crates her dogs in the car with leashes. I think Roo would eat
her leash, but thought I would share the info.

OOPS! I forgot to add this to the MARCH Newsletter, so here it is:
the spoiled LEAH DAWG!

Snow and the cold have frozen the pipes! Her highness now has a comfy bed next to the kerosene heater
(known as the Leah heater), her moms go buy her fresh water from the Strack and Van Tills store, she gets
carried from the house to the car and back in her snuggy warm fleecys from Miz Allie, and she has to snuggle
under two thick quilts in a queen size bed only AFTER mom Bev has warmed it sufficiently first! Can you say ROTTEN?
LOL Is it possible to come back as your own dog when you die?
