Quick Overview & Description
of the BCCA Facilities:
The modern and fully furnished center, slated
to open in April of 2003, will serve as a
culturally integrated venue where members of all ages and abilities
in Brookline and its
surrounding towns can attend affordable lessons in dance, martial
arts, fitness, acting, music,
and other arts. The center will host community events, and provide
practice and performance
facilities, instructor training and new teaching opportunities
for local artists.
The BCCA is located at 14 Green Street (map),
one of the most central, accessible and safe areas in Brookline.
It is surrounded by 3 subway T stops (B, C, & D Lines) and
is only one block from the
Coolidge Corner T stop. There is also a public bus stop
on Harvard Street, adjacent to the property.
The center is situated located in Brookline’s commerce and
entertainment center, Coolidge Corner,
and is visible from Harvard Street. Metered and free parking
are ample.
The center will feature three studios
with the following specifications:
Studio #1 – 1150 sq. ft. – 40’9”
x 29’2” (9 ft. ceiling)
Studio #2 – 846 sq. ft. – 39’6” x 21’5”
(11 ft. ceiling)
Studio #3 – 987.5 sq. ft. – 39’6” x 25’
(11 ft. ceiling)
Studio #4 – 511.5 sq. ft. – 22” x 23’3”
(11 ft. ceiling)
Studio #5 – 587 sq. ft. – 18’7” x 31’7”
(9 ft. ceiling)
Studio #6 – 224 sq. ft. – 13’10” x 16’2”
(9 ft. ceiling) – Sound Proof Music Room
Note that Studios #2, #3, and #4 can open up into
one large studio/ballroom, using moveable partitions.
In this configuration, Studio #4 may be used as a performance
stage.
Studio Floors:
All studios have Wooden Kiwi Productions sprung floors with tong
& groove Canadian maple hardwood;
Marley overlay options
Studio Facilities:
Dressing & locker rooms, bathrooms & showers, mirrors,
barres, heating and air conditioning,
advanced audio/video and computer systems, pianos, kitchen &
bar furnishings, wheelchair access.
