Classifieds

Classifieds are probably one of the best known forms of advertising there is. Everybody has come across them at some point, be it on the net, in local newspapers or magazines. They have also picked up a lot of bad press, with a lot of people dismissing them due to the vast number of sites available on the net, saying that your ads will never be seen.

But as with safelists and FFA’s if used properly and consistently they can be a good source for getting new members into your program. Every day new people come onto the net and Internet marketing. Many of them will visit classified sites. Pro marketers also visit them looking for different things, some looking for a new venture to join and some looking for new subject lines and inspiration.

Now while classifieds alone may not make you rich they are a good free resource not to be overlooked. A good marketer will use all the resources available to him/her.

Classifieds work much the same way as FFA's except you normally have more than 1 line to get your message across. Most classifieds allow you a subject line and an ad up to 250 characters long, although this does vary from site to site.

When you place your ad, you are asked how long you want your ad to appear for. If they allow it choose your ad to appear for 1 or 2 days and repost regularly. Your ad will normally appear at the top of the list when you initially post it and then gradually move down the list as new ads are posted, so after a day or so your ad will be near the bottom and not seen

As with most other forms of advertising you need a strong subject line to grab the reader’s attention. Use capitals and punctuation to make it stand out, and any other options the site may offer like bold text. Read the subject lines of the other ads on the site and see what subject lines attract you. Try to incorporate these Subject lines into your advertising if you can

Once again you’ll need 2 email accounts for classified ads: a Contact address and Submission address. The submission address will receive a lot of mail in the form of confirmation emails. You may also receive mail from people who harvest email addresses to send you info of their own opportunities. Never use your main contact address for submitting to classified sites.

When using classifieds, be persistent, post regularly, try out different subject headings and different sites. Eventually you’ll find a combination that works for you. To get started try FiendCat Classifieds, after you have posted your ad you’ll have the option to submit your ad across the entire net work of 2800 classified sites.
