A lot of black men won't even look my way
as I pass them by
not even to say "hi!"
Some white men think I'm loud and obnoxious
because of the color of my skin
not even knowing what's with in.
A lot of black women think I should 'fix my hair'
because it's in a natural 'fro
when they bought theirs from the sto'
Some white women think I'm jealous
but I just might be over zealous
'cause I love my brothers dearly
even those that don't hear me
Black folk don't want to know their heritage
they so negative
claiming every damn culture except their own.
It hurts just to say this
I wish I could fix this
but some of them are senseless and far too gone.
They need to stop trying to mold me into something
that I can't be
I'm gone always be me and I say that with dignity
and I say that with pride
this is something that I can't hide
I wouldn't try to if I could
'cause my chocolate is all good!!!
