It is with great sadness we report the passing of Donald Holtzclaw on January 19, 2003
at 11:05 a.m., following a long illness.

Don was born February 28, 1934

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Harden Holtzclaw; a son, Lovell Daryl Holtzclaw of
Edgewood, Kentucky; daughters, Diana Lynn Nemes of Princeton, N.J., and Donna L. Reinhart
of Florence Kentucky; his mother, Clarice Roark of Edgewood Kentucky; five grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.

Don had many careers, beginning with ownership of TV shops and consummating with a long,
very distinguished career with Western Union.

Don started with Western Union at Cincinnati "reperf" as an Apprentice Automatic Technician
in October of 1957. He progressed through the ranks, being in time: An Automatic Technician,
an FCC License Instructor, Computer Center Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, Site Supervisor,
Maintenance Analyst, Site Manager, and finally, in February of 1968 Don became Manager of
"System Analysis and Programming - AUTODIN Automatic Maintenance Programs."

During the last four plus years of his life Don dedicated all his available time to his
creation, the AUTODIN web site. Don maintained this site almost entirely on his own, except
for an occasional documents some of us would submit from time to time. One of Don's last
requests was that the site continue. But this was an irrational request as no one can dedicate
the 12 to 14 hours per day (as did Don) to keep it going.

Don will be sorely missed by all who shared his life.
