DW Saturday 9 January Hidden Valley
Grade: M 5 4
Leader: Alan Cox
Petrol: $5 from Samford
Meet: Park, Samford, 7.30 am
Join me to explore for a beautiful, seldom visited, palm filled valley with a delightful stream meandering through.
This is an ideal walk for this time of year as hopefully we will have finished all the climb before midday, with lunch at the top, and an hours walk back to the cars. This leaves plenty of time for a good coffee break on return.

Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk
This walk is part graded track and part road. It passes through the Springbrook
section of the Gold Coast Great Walk.
We are meeting in Numinbah Valley at the walk’s finishing point and a car
shuttle will be necessary to ferry us to the start up on Springbrook.
The walk has an interesting mix of scenery including the spectacular Purling
Brook Falls, rainforest, pretty creek scenery and varying types of eucalypt
forest.
Most of the walk is downhill but there is one notable “up” in the morning and a
couple of smaller “ups” in the afternoon.
There are short sections with no shade so be prepared for the hot weather and
have ample water and a hat. I will arrange car pooling by phone where feasible.
