Cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you. I Peter 5:7 _____________

If you have been a Christian for any length of time you probably have had experiences in which you knew that God either spoke to you in some dramatic way or guided and directed you in some way that could only be explained by the power of the Holy Spirit. I had such an experience last month in a prison in Gulfport, Mississippi. No, I was not arrested! But God “arrested” the Called Quartet when we sang in the Harrison County Detention Center first for the male in-mates and then for the women. That very Tuesday morning, April 22, when I opened up a Gideon Bible in the motel room, the page fell open to Isaiah 61:1 and I read these words: The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners. I shared that experience with those men and women. Mike Meetze shared his testimony, and when we sang “Sinner Saved By Grace” it was like the barriers broke down and hearts were set free as they came to Jesus. That was one of the most powerful experiences I have had in a long time. There was such a hunger and thirst for God. The tears were flowing freely as the power of the true love of God was poured out on all of us in that prison courtyard. Praise the One who can set you free!

Eph. 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think, according to the power that works in us by Christ Jesus, to Him be glory in the church to all generations forever and ever, amen.

April 11, 2005 in Calcutta

Last year the South Carolina Baptist Singing Churchmen went to India for 2 weeks. We sang 13 concerts in Bangalore, Vellore, and Calcutta. We raised money for hospitals, sang in churches and schools, and sang in the streets of Calcutta. There are over a billion people in India and most do not know of Jesus Christ. In the picture above, we are in the district where they make their idols out of clay. We sang for a craftsman and he went in the back and came out with this crucifix. It was the only Christian icon I saw all day! He would not let me buy it from him because it was a gift. A few minutes later another craftsman presented me with a little statue of Ganesh (a god that has the head of an elephant, multiple arms, and a pot-belly). I did not want to offend the man, and so I accepted it. but around the corner, I hid Ganesh in a paper and held it behind the crucifix which I held prominantly through the streets.

HERE IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!

It seems that we are living in an age when more than ever, people are looking for answers in life. People are crying out to know the answer to problems such as:
What can solve the problem of racial hatred in the world?
What can bring an end to the unspeakable crime of ethnic cleansing?
What can bring peace to the enraged minds and hearts of teenagers today who place little or no value on human life?

And for answers to the less desperate questions such as:
Why am I not happy anymore like I use to be?
What can take away the feelings of guilt I still carry around with me?
What can take away that sinful habit I've developed?
What can wash away my sin?

The answer to these questions is all the same. We sing about it. We teach and preach about it. But more than ever, we need to let our lives be used by God to tell this lost and dying world that the answer is Jesus Christ. And only through a saving knowledge of what He did for us on the cross of Calvary will this world and your own private world find peace.
No more excuses now. This earthly life is short! God's waiting for you to come to Him by asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins and invite Him into your heart.

Joyfully Yours,
Dan

Several years ago I read a book called “Last Words of Saints and Sinners” that quoted the dying words of various notable people from history. The English atheist Thomas Hobbes said, "I am taking a fearful leap into the dark!" The French philosopher Voltaire who was regarded by the Christian world as an “infidel” cried out, "I am abandoned by God and man; I shall go to hell!" Sir Francis Newport wailed in anguish, "Oh, eternity, eternity forever and forever! Oh, the insufferable pangs of hell!"

What a sobering contrast to the last words that book recorded of people who knew and loved Christ as their Lord and Savior. Dwight L. Moody said, "This is glorious! Earth recedes; heaven is opening; God is calling me!" Sir David Brewster declared, "I will see Jesus--see Him as He is. I have had the light for many years. Oh, how bright it is! I feel so safe, so satisfied!" And these words from a man being burned at the stake: "Blessed be the time that ever I was born for this day. We shall not lose our lives in this fire," he said to his fellow martyrs, "but only change them for something better." Child of God, even if physical pain and heartache are a part of our closing days, the heavenly Father will give us dying grace. When we pass through that dark valley, we need not fear. The Great Shepherd will be with us.
Those who truly fear God need not fear death!

What shall I do when the heathen stand
And accuse that I seldom lent a hand
To save them from pain and eternal woe
And stayed in my ease but made others go
With a message I knew, I knew full well
Could save them from sin and fear and hell?

O God, my God, in that dreadful day
When all excuses are tossed away
And there's no time left to repent and pray
As earthly treasures in ashes lay,
Then Lord, O Lord, what shall I say
For the money and time I have frittered away?

Words & Music by Dan Williams

March 23, 1999 - April 25, 1999

To everything there is a season;
A time for every purpose under heaven.
A time to speak, A time to listen;
And time is fleeting--that’s for certain.
But you, you can know for sure
If you will call upon His name He will hear you!
He has time for you!

He has all the time in the world for you.
He has all the time in the world, it’s true.
But each day passes by,
He waits for your reply:
Does He have all your time in this world?

We’re always counting on tomorrow,
But all we have is here and now.
And now’s the time for tears and sorrow
If you would live but don’t know how.
But you, you can know for sure
If you will call upon His name He will hear you!
He has time for you!

He has all the time in the world for you.
He has all the time in the world, it’s true.
But each day passes by,
He waits for your reply:
Does He have all your time in this world? ________________________________________________

God’s Own Way
Words by Bernice Corley and Dan Williams
Music by Dan Williams
May 20, 2002
Written in Memory of Jeremy Corley
March 23, 1999 - April 25, 1999
God’s own time, God’s own way. Every minute, every day.
Seasons come and seasons go; We learn, but sometimes we cannot know.
And that is why we trust each day to God’s own time and God’s own way.
We’ll praise Your name tomorrow, We’ll praise Your name today
For all our hopes and dreams are held within Your time and way.
God’s own time, God’s own way. Every minute, every day.
Seasons come and seasons go; We learn, but sometimes we cannot know.
And that is why we trust each day to God’s own time and God’s own way.
Remembering with nursery rhymes a tender life so sweet.
Jeremy, a gift to hold now sits at Jesus?feet!
God’s own time, God’s own way. Every minute, every day.
Seasons come and seasons go; We learn, but sometimes we cannot know.
And that is why we trust each day to God’s own time and God’s own way.
Sometimes it is the little gifts so special and so great.
We pray until we see you there: “Lord, teach us how to wait,to wait!?
God’s own time, God’s own way.
Every minute, every day.
Seasons come and seasons go;
We learn, but sometimes we cannot know.
And that is why we trust each day to God’s own time and God’s own way.

BEYOND THE WALLS
Dan Williams, 2002

Through sacrifice and seeking God these walls were made with beauty,
And each brick laid with duty to offer unto God our very best.
But we must not forget, God is not stationary, bound in a sanctuary,
Or a temple made with hands.

Within these walls we meet as one to worship God
Without these walls we’d do the same upon the sod.
The day these walls just hold You in, Lord, let them fall;
God’s kingdom grows when His love goes beyond the walls.

And just beyond these walls of stone a homeless man is dying,
a single mom is crying, a lonely one is trying to find love;
Beyond these walls are those who do not know of Calvary or where they’ll spend eternity;
The Father calls to us:

Beyond the walls they need to see Jesus there!
Beyond the walls is where you prove you really care.
Go quickly now before the final curtain falls,
God’s kingdom grows when His love goes beyond the walls.

Like birds inside a cage we’ve grown accustomed to this life,
But Jesus did not set us free so we’d just sit inside!
You know it’s true, on this side of these walls we love we feast around the table,
And sing how God is able to forgive and make us whole.

But just beyond these walls you will see that Jesus died to save you
so He could take and use you to reach another soul.
God’s kingdom grows when His love goes beyond the walls.
So let us show His love to those beyond the walls;
Because we know the Lord says, “Go beyond the walls!
