Home | Chapter History | Chapter Officers | Calendar | Patriots | How to Join Chapter History The Arrowhead Valley Chapter was organized on December 7, 2002, from the Arrowhead and San Bernardino chapters. Both chapters had long and illustrious histories. Arrowhead Chapter was organized on April 19, 1917, the anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and the “Shot heard 'round the world.” The organizing regent was Mrs. Irving Davis. San Bernardino Chapter was organized soon after on March 20, 1920, with Mrs. Anna Boley Graner as organizing regent. During WWII, the San Bernardino Chapter purchased and cut 50,000 yards of surgical dressings for the war effort. This was in addition to their donations of bathrobes, personal bags, and flannel pajamas, all the while keeping up with the local, state, and national requirements for DAR. Arrowhead Chapter was also active in the war effort, though the records have been lost. Arrowhead Chapter has placed many historical markers, including DAR Real Daughters' markers on the graves of Malvina K. Rowell (1816 – 1901) and Laura Baker Strong (1786 – 1883). Both markers are in the Hillside Memorial Park, Redlands. These two venerable chapters have merged to form a very dynamic chapter. ~ ARROWHEAD VALLEY CHAPTER ~
