On returning to Australia, I moved back to the Whitsunday's where I started work for South Molle Island Resort as Assistant Manager. South Molle is one of the larger Islands in the Whitsunday's, but the Resort is "rustic", read - run down.

The Lost World - Catering
Complete change of tack as I started work with Eric Fleury, an old GO mate, with his Catering Business in the Film Industry. First Production was "The Lost World, Series II", a TV Series based on the famous Arthur Conan Doyle book of hidden lands and live Dinosaurs. This was filmed around the Gold Coast Hinterland.
Attack on the Queen - Unit Assistant
Moved on to a TV Movie "Attack on the Queen", also filmed on the Gold Coast and Brisbane. This was based around a terrorist attack on the Queen Elisabeth II, by Taiwanese terrorists intent on preventing a closer rapprochement between the American and Chinese Presidents, who were meeting on the QE2 for dinner and high level talks. Released in March 2003 as "Counterstrike", on American TV as a TV Movie. I had a small "Extra" role as an Officer on the Bridge, when taken over by the terrorists, my 15 seconds of fame.
Outback (Survivor) - Catering
Reality TV, take 16 Germans, plonk them in the middle of the Outback, feed them rice and anything they can catch and eh voilą, Another Production. This took part mainly in the region of Charters Towers in Far North Queensland, over 6 weeks in August and September 2001. Episode 10 saw me appearing, dressed up in full waiter gear, in order to serve the last 5 competitors their reward challenge meal, see photo below, left.

It's back to Tourism and the Hotel Industry, as I attempt to master Reservations !!!!! Situated in the glorious Whitsunday's.
