SAFETY TOWN The Ewing Kiwanis each year since 1981 provides a miniature town constructed in one of the school’s gymnasiums in Ewing. The two week program is for preschoolers in Ewing Township and it teaches them traffic safety, school bus safety, stranger safety, how to dial 911 for Mom or Dad, and accident prevention. Also they receive a visit from Officer Friendly of the Ewing Township Police Department, as well as Officer McGruff the safety Dog. The children also have a chance to visit one of the Township fire departments where they are taught what to do in a fire and not to play with matches.
