GOVERNANCE OF LOCAL 434

The union is governed by an Executive Council comprised of elected officers (9), the appointed Comptroller, the appointed Chair of each standing committee (11), the appointed Delegate and Alternate to the SouthWest Illinois Central Labor Council (SWICLC), and the appointed SouthWest Area Council (SWAC) Representative. Currently, considering several members wear a few hats, a total of 17 union members, about 7% of the membership, sit on the Executive Council that meets monthly during the school year.

If a union member is interested in running for office or being appointed to a committee as a member or chair, they should contact an elected officer for further information and read the union's constitution to familiarized themselves with that committee's duties.
