Volunteers and Donors
This
project would not be possible without Oregonians so generously giving of their
time and materials.
Several have made many blocks, others have pieced several tops, and some
are graciously offering their time and talent doing beautiful quilting to finish
these gifts of honor.
As the number of volunteers sewing, and otherwise supporting, the Oregon Home of the Brave Quilt Project
grows, their names will be listed below.
Thank you to all our volunteers!

I shall pass through this world but once.
Any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show
to any human being, let me do it now.
Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again. |

Fabric Stores Beaverton Mill End Store - Their weekly quilting group pieced and quilted four beautiful quilts. Greenbaums Quilted Forest, Salem - Their customers donated 20 wonderful blocks they made during a special sew-in on Memorial Day. Gresham Craft Warehouse - Their fabric manager, Monika Reese, made this project a Block of the Month and their group donated enough blocks to make 12 quilt tops. Pioneer Quilts, Happy Valley (www.PioneerQuiltShop.com) - At the re-opening of their store after moving from the previous Damascus location, Co-Owners Linda Hadley and Carol Peters have one of the areas greatest inventories, if not the BEST, of Civil War reproduction fabrics. The caring ladies of this store are all knowledgeable and most supportive of The Home of the Brave Quilt Project, and the shop offers a discount on all fabrics purchased for making a Home of the Brave quilt or blocks. In addition, their 1800's club is helping out with piecing and quilting several quilts. You'll find a great selection of other beautiful lines of fabric, books and notions, too, so whatever you need, stop in to say Hi to Carol and Linda. We're so grateful for their dedicated support of our fallen heroes, and our mission to bring comfort to the families.

A Joy Forever Scrapbooking, Gresham - This is a scrap booker's DREAM store and owners David and Joy Burgess have generously donated albums, material and hours of labor from their talented staff, Edie and Carlah. Disabled American Veterans Assn., Portland Chapter - Our deepest appreciation to the men and women of this organization for their generous financial donation. It's hard to know how to thank a group like this who has already given so much to our community and our country. They understand better than most the need to comfort the families of our fallen heroes, and with pride stepped forward to help us. Their donation has allowed us to purchase fabrics and continue to personally deliver Home of the Brave Quilts to all corners of Oregon, and as we quickly became caught up, to continue to provide quilts to help other states
