About Ted Pugh

Edward J. Pugh was born in Pomona CA, and has lived there all his life.
Currently he lives in a large grey stone house that his grandfather built,
surrounded by woods that inspire much of his poetry.
He has a degree in horticulture, and retired in 1969 from the Los Angeles
Arboretum where he worked as a naturalist. Now he writes about five poems a day
and this tiny selection begins the process of recording them for posterity.
His Welsh ancestry contributes to his passion for poetry. He has read his poems at
the Los Angeles Welsh Church, where he is a member, and in several locations in
Pomona and Claremont.
Ted's first published poem appeared in New York City in Menke Katz's magazine
Bitterroot. Since then he has been published in other magazines: Westways, The
Galley Sail Review, Élan, Ginger Hill, manna, Potato Eyes, Orphic Lute, Prophetic
Voices and others.
