Parade of outstanding students in commemoration of

2003-2004 academic year School Family Day held

YANGON, 3 Jan- A parade of outstanding students in commemoration of the 2003-2004 academic year School Family Day was held in front of the National Indoor Stadium-1 on Waizayanta Road in Thingangyun Township this morning, attended by Chairman of Myanmar Education Committee Prime Minister General Khin Nyunt.

The ceremony was held with four objectives- to implement education promotion programme and national education promotion programme, to show all-round educational development skill of students, for the students to try study hard after taking great interest in all-round educational development skill and to promote the students' outstanding and brilliant skill.

Also present were Vice-Chairman of Myanmar Education Committee Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Soe Win, Chairman of Yangon Division Peace and Developemnt Council Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Myint Swe, members of Myanmar Education Committee, the ministers, the attorney-general, the chairman of Civil Service Selection and Training Board, the Yangon mayor, the deputy ministers, officials of the State Peace and Development Council Office, heads of departments, diplomats, resident representatives of the UN Agencies, members of School Family Day Organizing Committee and Work Committee, the directors-general of departments under the Ministry of Education, rectors and principals of universities and colleges, members of the Secretariat of the Union Solidarity and Development Association, Township Education Officers, school heads, teachers, parents, members of school board of trustees, officials of NGOs, outstanding students and guests.

Ma Pyi Mon Thet and Ma Win Leh Phyu, a seventh standard and a ninth standard students of No 2 Basic Education High School, Sangyoung Township and Naw Ruth and Naw Mary, a ninth standard and a seventh standard students of the same school acted as masters of ceremonies and announced the agenda in Myanmar and in English respectively.

Outstanding student Ma Ei Ei Chun of No 1 BEHS, Dagon Township and Ma Khin Mya Thet Hnin of No 1 BEHS, Sangyoung Township sang a song "Son-nyi-pwe-daw-doh-hnwe-pyaw" composed by pianist Saw Win Thin of Yankin Education College with the accompaniment of the band of No 1 BEHS, Dagon Township. Two hundred girl students of No 2 BEHS, Kamayut Township performed dances.

State Flag bearing team of No 6 BEHS, Botahtaung Township marched together with the band of No 3 BEHS, Bago, playing the national anthem. Prime Minister General Khin Nyunt and those present saluted the State Flag.

Next, outstanding eighth standard students in literature, school activities and all-round development sectors, flag-bearing team of No 3 BEHS, Mingala Taungnyunt Township, the band of BEHS in Kyaukse Township, outstanding tenth standard students of the 2003-2004 academic year, flag-bearing team of No 4 BEHS, Botahtaung Township, the band of BEHS in Dawbon Township and students who won prizes in Pyinnyatazaung literary contest, Myanmar and international social relaions skill contests also marched.

The band of BEHS in Dawbon Township presented "San-pya-doh-Tatmadaw" and "Myanma School".

The flag-bearing team of No 2 BEHS, Sangyoung Township and the band of No 4 BEHS in Tamwe Township and students who won prizes in sports, physical education, painting and arts at home and abroad marched.

The band of No 4 BEHS in Tamwe Township presented their performance with the song "Mya-pan-khway".

The flag bearing team of No 4 BEHS in Tamwe Township, the band of No 8 BEHS, Mawlamyine and outstanding students who won prizes in 11th Myanma Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions marched.

The band of No 8 BEHS, Mawlamyine perfomed marching songs "Aung-lan-wint-wint-tha-maing-ah-hsint-hsint", "Pay-hsat-chin-myar", "Mya-pan-khway", "Auld Lang Sang" and "Myanmar-pyi-thar".

The flag-bearing team of No 2 BEHS, Latha Township and the band of No 3 BEHS in Taunggyi and students who were listed in the top ten in the 2003 matriculation examination marched.

The band of No 3 BEHS in Taunggyi performed the song, "Shwe-moe-lay-ga-nyo-deh", demonstrated the word SHAN, sang songs "Pay-hsat-chin-myar" and "Let-thee" together with Shan dances. After the first session, the Prime Minister cordially greeted the outstanding students.

The second session was held in the National Indoor Stadium in Thuwunna.

Ma Yadana Aye Min, a seventh standard student and Ma Hauk Khang Dimk, a ninth standard student of No 2 BEHS, Sangyoung Township acted as masters of ceremonies and announced agenda in Myanmar and in English respectively.

First, outstanding student Ma Ngu Wa Phu of No 3 BEHS, Bago and Maung Zaw Lin, a student of Third Year (Hons) majoring in Chemistry of Dagon University reported on achievements in basic and higher education sectors.

Altogether 160 girl students of No 4 BEHS, Tamwe Township performed "Ahla-thit-sa" dance. Girl students of No 2 BEHS, Sangyoung Township performed "Kyi-nu-shwin-pyaw-tha-nge-daw" dance.

A total of 200 schoolgirls from BEHS-2 Sangyoung Township presented dances and demonstrate the letters EFA which stands for Education for All and the numbers 2015, the targeted year of the success of the motto.

Afterwards, Maung Zeya Pyi Pyo of BEHS-6 Botahtaung Township and Ma Khin Mya Thet Hnin of BEHS-1 Sangyoung Township entertained the audience with Myanma Thaing song to the accompaniment of Po Thingyan Mingala Saing Troupe of Kamayut BEHS-2, while schoolgirls of Latha BEHS-2 demonstrated Myanma Thaing mertial art.
