A new three-storeyed building at the Institute of Medicine (Magway) was opened on the 14th of February, 2003. There are now altogether 4 medical schools in the country including IM(1) and (2) in Yangon and the one in Mandalay.
Sanchaung (2) ruled School Family Day Celebrations 2002-03
Sixth grader Yadana Aye Min and eighth grader Pyi Mon Thet of Sangyoung-2 acted as masters of ceremonies announcing the programs in Myanmar and our eighth grader Hauk Khant Dimk and sixth grader Naw Mary in English at the opening ceremony of School Family Day Celebrations for 2002-2003 at Diamond Jubilee Hall.Sangyoung (2)’s band and the pom-pom dance troupe demonstrated at the occasion and other students from our school participated in the Myanma traditional ozi song and dance presentations. Sanchaung (2) Won Myanma National ICT Award 2002 At the opening ceremony of the Fourth International ICT Exhibition 2002, jointly organized by Myanmar Computer Scientists Association and Myanmar Computer Industry Association under the supervision of Myanmar Computer Federation held on Oct 19 at Tamadaw Hall, "the Secretary-1 presented prizes to Ko Lu Aye Oo of the Professional Entertainment Group who won the best entertainment award for Time Travellers (3D Graphic Movie), U Aung Soe Lin of the MCC Mastech who won the best of business application award for Comprehensive Human Resource Solution Project, U Zaw Htut of Myanmars Net who won the best of tourism for Win Myanmar Fonts for Windows Project, Ace Research Team-1 that won Best Communication Application for Banking Application Project, ninth standard students of Sangyoung Township BEHS-2 who won best award for Energy: Energy is needed to produce Energy Project, and the consolation prize for Entertainment Application Project to U Pyi Sone of MCC Team X for Yangon City Internet/ Internet Radio Station Project." Our elementary students shine in the Diamond Jubilee Hall A ceremony in honor of success achieved in enrolment movement for school-going age children for the year 2002 of the Ministry of Education was held at the Diamond Jubilee Hall on Pyay Road, Kamayut Township on July 26, 2002.
Third standard student Ma Seint Shwe Sin and fourth grader Ma Ei Wa Than Zaw from Sanchaung (2) acted as masters of ceremonies for the first session of the opening ceremony that took place in front of the Diamond Jubilee Hall where they read out the agenda in Myanmar and in English respectively.
Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt attended the event where 14 students representing 14 states and divisions formally opened the ceremony.
Next, the second session followed in the hall. Again, masters of ceremonies were fourth graders from Sangyoung (2) Ma Thin Thiri Win and Ma Htut Myat Noe Aung who read out the agenda in Myanmar and in English respectively. Multi-talented Htut Myat Noe Aung has won many awards, including a gold medal in piano competition in Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions.
Sanchaung (2) also presented an entertainment program with the song titled "Myanma Kyaung." (From Myanma Alin, July 28, 2002)

9th Standard Optional Subject Selection Meeting Programme Broadcast Minister for Education U Than Aung, accompanied by Deputy Minister U Myo Nyunt, watched the Ninth Standard Optional Subject Selection Meeting Programme broadcast through Electronic Data Broadcasting System at Basic Education High School No 2 in Sangyoung Township this afternoon.
Students and teachers watched the programme at e-Education Learning Centres all over the nation at 10 am, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. today. The programme will be broadcast at the designated time on 2 and 3 June.
The subjects which should be learnt for any person will be broadcast as the formal and non-formal education programmes with the use of Electronic Data Broadcasting System. In Myanmar, 203 e-Education Learning Centres have been opened. (From Myanma Alin, June 2, 2001)
