 At the right you will find our current class schedule. Below are descriptions of each class.

Creative Movement
A class designed for the pre-school child ages 3 - 4 1/2 years. Although these children are too young for the rigors of classical ballet they can, however, be introduced to the beauty of classical dance. The use of music, rhythm, mime and gesture are all used in a class that is both playful and creative.

Pre-Primary / Primary
An introduction to the foundation of classical ballet: Correct posture and weight placement, accurate alignment, control of turnout, spatial awareness and rhythm presented in a creative and structured class. (Vocabulary)

Grades 1, 2 & 3
Students will acquire a basic vocabulary in the techniques of ballet, free movement and character dance. Also, the ability to co-ordinate simple movements to produce a combination of steps within the range of their own physical capacity. Students' performances will show a developing spatial awareness, sensitivity to music and an ability to work with others. (Vocabulary)

Grade 4 & 5
Students consolidate technical skills and an extended range of movements in sequences of increased length and complexity. They will acquire a clear understanding of the mechanics and purpose of the required vocabulary. The advance in technical facility and improved spatial awareness leads to an increased assurance of presentation. (Vocabulary)

Grade 6 & 7
Students master a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the vocabulary of various ballet and character dance styles, as well as a wide range of movements. Students begin to attain the self-awareness and confidence necessary to a sensitive personal interpretation of musical mood. (Vocabulary)

Intermediate Foundation/Intermediate
Designed for students who are making an in-depth study of Classical Ballet that provides the opportunity to pursue a dance or dance-related career. Students achieve precision, technical proficiency, core stability, and a fluent use of the dance movement vocabulary. Attention to communication and projection leads to an assured musical and artistic performance. (Vocabulary)

Advanced 1 & 2
We build on the achievements of the Intermediate level. Execution is considerably more refined, employing an extensive dance movement vocabulary. Performance is approached as a coherent entity with an emphasis on dramatic interpretation and expression with a high level of engagement. (Vocabulary)

Adult Ballet
A comprehensive ballet class designed for the adult beginner that also meets the needs of the more advanced student.

Pilates Mat Class
Exercises rooted in the disciplines of Yoga and weight-training are utilized for strengthening the abdominals and postural support muscles, increasing body awareness, muscle tone and flexibility. A wonderful complement to private Reformer sessions. Mats and props are provided. (Core Kinetics)
