The
Dadaists Contents: Overview: Shane Gufforg's set design was inspired, in part, by a three-ring circus. Guffogg communicated the sense of isolation of a time and transparency of timelessness to the stuggles of these Dadaists. An additional set design element was that all actors remained onstage during the performance, sitting on rows of toilets along the SL and SR walls. A tribute to Duchamps' urinal, the toilets were the piece de resistance. Andrea Housh's lighting design was a difficult task. For the toilets, Andrea installed a small fixture within each, so that every actor individually controled his/her light. Costume design also went to the edge. Amid impeccable 1916 period wardrobe, Beth Morgan and Ann Mugford added unique flairs to challenge audience perception. String Theory Productions composed and recorded original music for this play. They are amazing musicians and they gave such a layer of amazing artistry to the show. Choreography by Kitty McNamee beautifully captured the essence of ground-breaking movement styles and unbridled passions, whether in a morphine-induced dance scene or marionette-based interactions between hunter and prey.
