A
Family Union
by Michelle Stace
In the beginning God created a family union;
One man for one woman, He said, it
was good,
'Be fruit and multiply, over the earth have
dominion.'
Words of life they were given to live as
they should.
The family order is perfect,
God's beauty it mirrors.
His role for the man is to lead and provide;
'He findeth a wife and obtains the Lord's
favour.'
She's keeper of the home and stands by his
side.
Christ's bride is the Church;
a likeness for man and wife
As one flesh they become united in marriage.
And gladly they receive God's gifts of new life;
to faithfully raise unto Him as a heritage.
Each child is taught in the way he should go:
To love the Lord God with heart , mind and soul,
Honoring parents is part of the plan,
And 'doing unto others' in all that they can.
But the family isn't what it used to be,
Two incomes are 'needed' for them to survive.
They call my children 'our' children;
Will we buy into their lies?
So husband and wife go in diff 'rent directions,
Each to their own occupation.
His paycheck, her paycheck;
Ahh . . . . domestic competition!
His check for bills and hers for some toys;
Instead of God's provision, on this they
rely.
First a house and a car and a dog named Leroy;
Some nice clothes and vacation . . . they're
getting by.
With careful 'family planning' arrives a
made to order pair;
Whose cry will mom answer, baby's or the
second income?
Well a habit's been formed, so the children
go to daycare
. . . To be raised and nurtured by a substitute mom.
The children get older and go to public
school;
Where they learn many things they can't live
without . . .
There's no absolute truth, so make your own
rules,
They're descended from apes, and what 'safe
sex' is all about.
At home, education resumes with TV,
And meals come from boxes and cans.
There's no time to cook - everyone is too
busy;
Seems that 'quality time' is only a sham.
Sadly we hear a divorce is occuring.
At work Dad has found a girlfriend to visit;
Or maybe it's Mom who's having the fling.
Well, grass is greener on the other side
. . . isn't it?
So ignoring God's order, we've created perfect
chaos;
Mom wears the pants, Dad has lost his incentive.
Instead of godly offspring, the children
are rebellious
. . . Our God given roles we're only pretending to live.
They'd have us believe traditional family
is outdated.
They'd have us believe a family is ANY combination.
Despite what they try it isn't what God created;
. . . But it is what He calls abomination!
God's word is etched in the blood of the Lamb;
Yet we dare subject it to our shifting opinions.
Games we may play, but His Word stays the same;
O return to GOD'S standard of a family union!
